Cher's staggering net worth proves how powerful and influential she is as a musician, but she reportedly could have earned more.

Celebrity Net Worth estimates Cher's net worth to be around $360 million after selling over 100 million records, making her one of the best-selling artists in the world. She started her career in the 1960s, and she continuously flourished in the years thereafter.

Cher's Net Worth Could Have A Whole Lot More

Speaking in an interview with Vernon Kay on BBC Radio 2's Tracks of My Years, Cher revealed that she lost millions after making a mistake while recording "Believe" in the 1990s. She reportedly became "too stupid" to ask for her contribution to the song's lyrics, resulting in her losing supposed earnings.

"You can't even imagine - about 30 people wrote on it. And I wrote it and was so stupid - I didn't even ask to get a writer's credit! I wrote, 'I've had time to think it through, and maybe I'm too good for you," she shared.

"Believe" listed Timothy Powell, Steven Torch, Matthew Gray, Stuart McLennen, Brian Higgins and Paul Barry as the official songwriters.

She lamented, "A chick can be upset for one verse but not two, not on one of my songs. I could have gotten a lot of money."

Cher Records New Milestone

Forbes praised Cher this week after the singer scored another No. 1 hit, having seven No. 1 in seven different decades. Billboard recognized her as the first female musician to do so.

She scored the milestone after her "DJ Play a Christmas Song" dominated the Dance/Electronic Song Sales after initially ranking third. Luminate revealed that 2,600 copies were sold following the release.

The track is part of her 27th studio album, "Christmas," and her first original material project in 10 years.

Amid her fruitful career, she reflected on Aging during a recent interview.

"It's very difficult because I've lived too long and I've done too many things," she added. "And so it would have to be like, an encyclopedia, truthfully.

She shared in a separate interview that, while she is not a fan of herself, she likes doing her albums. In addition, she admitted to hating her unique sound because she thinks her voice is weird.
