Shakira has done so much for Latin music that she became one of the most prominent superstars in the music industry for blending Spanish into her English songs.

After decades of impact and influence, Shakira's Colombian hometown has honored her with a statue of her own.

Shakira Statue in Colombia

What better gift to receive on Christmas Day than a bronze statue of yourself in your hometown? Shakira was elated to see that a Shakira statue in Colombia had been unveiled.

"It makes me happy to share this with my parents and especially my mother on her birthday. My parents, the mayor and I back there watching!. Oh and this dedication. This is too much for my little heart. My fathers and my brothers with our mayor," she captioned her post.

According to People Magazine, Shakira's bronze statue was erected in her hometown in Colombia, Barranquilla, Colombia.

Renowned artist Yino Márques sculpted the bronze statue, showing Shakira in her prime - her hips pounding like her "Hips Don't Lie" dance moves from her music video in 2005.

As seen in the carousel of photos that she had posted, Shakira's parents, William Mebarak Chadid and Nidia Ripoll Torrado posed in front of the 21-foot bronze statue of hers.

"A heart that composes, hips that do not lie, an unmatched talent, a voice that moves masses and bare feet that march for the good of childhood and humanity," the dedication on the statue read.
