Tony Orlando is ready to put an end to his career after decades of performing, but he had to perform at a series of concerts for the last time to entertain his fans; why is the singer retiring in the first place?

According to Billboard, the musician will end his touring career with a farewell tour that will begin with three shows in Las Vegas, Nevada, before traveling to major cities across the United States and Canada like Atlantic City, Niagra Falls, and more.

Fans should expect Orlando to perform most of his classic hits and it would be an emotional series of shows as this would be his last tour after performing for over 51 years.

Why Tony Orlando Decided to Retire After 5 Decades

In an interview with the outlet, Orlando explained why he decided to retire after working in the music industry for over five decades.

He noted that he still "hit the ball" but "can't run the bases." He also explained that the travel costs and his age were the main contributing factors why he wanted to retire now.

Even though he will stop performing, the singer will not retire from working at all, as he added, "It's also time for me to satisfy my creative juices with the need in me to produce, create new products from films, to Broadway shows, to streaming new product."

In addition, Orlando will launch his companies called Tony Orlando Productions and Explosive Films and Entertainment.

It seems like the singer will still have a busy career as he plans to get serious about writing his Broadway show and writing his new book.

Speaking about how he would feel after this tour wrapped, he said, "Oh man, I will miss the audiences, friends and fans who have stuck by me for these last 63 incredible years. But now it's time to grow and turn a new page in my life. How exciting!"

Throughout his career, the singer won two American Music Awards, oine People's Choice Award for best male entertainer, and more. Regarding his chart history, his musical act Tony Orlando & Dawn had three number one singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
