Music Times chose a brief set of our favorite tributes to one of the greatest vocalists of all time.

She also has made huge leaps in her career by taking on the role of a chronic pain sufferer in the indie flick "Cake." • Jennifer Aniston Happy to Be 'No. 1 Snubbed' of Oscar Noms

Is Jennifer Aniston the most snubbed person to walk away without an Oscar nomination this year? Well, truth be told, most of us cannot be too sure because while she has garnered critical acclaim for her role as a chronic pain sufferer in "Cake," it has not actually hit theaters yet, so most of us have yet to actually see it. She has scooped up leading actress nominations at the SAGs and the Golden Globes, though, so that has to count for something, right?
  • Jennifer Aniston Praises Angelina Jolie, Wishes the Media Would Stop Being so Petty

Even though Jennifer Aniston has spent the last several months in a very zen-like place, it's still unlikely that anyone would have expected her to ever praise the woman that helped destroy her marriage and yet, that's exactly what has happened! While the media has spent years wondering out loud what it would be like for Aniston and assumed faux, Angelina Jolie, to be at the same red carpet event, she has really come full circle with everything. Not only is the actress not slamming Brad Pitt's new wife, but she actually praised her in a recent interview.

Now Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie really do have something in common besides both being married to Brad Pitt at one point or another. This morning, both of them were snubbed by the Academy when it came time to announce the official 2015 Oscar nominations. Jolie was angling for Best Director for her (actually quite amazing) work on "Unbroken," while many believed that Aniston would be acknowledged for her work in "Cake."

Will tomorrow night be a real turning point for Jennifer Aniston? This seems to have been a year of real growth for Aniston in a multitude of ways. She has handled the press differently, tackling topics dead on, rather than hiding from them and she has talked about personal growth. It's that growth that ultimately allowed her to take the role of a chronic pain sufferer in "Cake" and the rewards already, have been great.
  • Steve Aoki Not Caking Fans at Most Events

Steve Aoki is looking to change his image. The world-traveling American DJ has announced that he will be leaving behind one of his calling cards and most unique skills going forward: cake throwing. The "Bonesless" DJ made the announcement today, Jan. 7, in anticipation of his upcoming Neon Future North American tour over February and March. He will not totally drop the theatric from his stage show, explaining that it will be saved for special shows where he is headlining and some special festival dates. For the most part, the cake will be left at home and fans will have to come already equipped with their sugar rush. Read the statement below via a press release: "To start the New Year I'm making some new changes and have decided I'll no longer be caking fans at most festivals. There might be an exception here or there but for the most part I'll be saving the CAKE for my headline shows, keeping it exclusive for the die-hard fans. So if you want to get caked, come to one of my headline shows like the Neon Future Experience that is happening across the USA and Canada in Feb/March, or at my upcoming Manchester and London shows, or in Vegas and Ibiza. And to show my love to all the fans around the world that love the cake I wrote a song especially for YOU, properly titled CAKEFACE! It's up now and free to download at soundcloud.com/steveaoki. Love you to infinity and back. Now let's go forward into the neon future!!"
  • Jennifer Aniston Dishes on 'Challenging Companionship' in 'In Style'

Is there anywhere that Jennifer Aniston has not been in the last several months? It seems like she has done every talk show and covered just about every magazine while promoting "Horrible Bosses 2" and "Cake," doesn't it? "In Style" magazine must have realized that it was kind of dropping the ball and decided to snatch up the hottest actress around for its February 2015 cover. Since Aniston has been opening up more than ever in ways that even her fans probably never expected her to do, she has been tackling some of the tougher topics head-on. Rather than run from things, a more centered Aniston has come off as being open and, in this latest interview, she dishes on changing her dating style over the years. "I'm a late bloomer. I mean, it's no secret: I've had some challenging companionship. I think hitting a wall with that really kind of [helped me grow]. I found a great therapist. Not to sound too 'woo woo,' but I think the self-love piece was really important. And spending a lot of time alone. Having time to ask myself why there was such toxicity in my immediate space at times. Why would I attract that instead of light?" explains Aniston.
  • Jennifer Aniston Ignores Rumors: 'We Know Our Truth'

It seems like Jennifer Aniston has gone through a major transformation, one not limited to the big screen. Sure, her performance in the indie flick "Cake" has won critical acclaim and the best actress nominations keep rolling in, but have you noticed how different Aniston sounds in her interviews? She has spent the last few months heavily promoting a few projects and her whole demeanor seems different. Gone is that sad creature whom Brad Pitt left and what has replaced her is a strong, centered woman, one who does not care about what the tabloids have to say about her. Aniston sat for an interview with "CBS Sunday Morning" that will air this weekend, and in it she addresses her attitude shift when it comes to dealing with the overzealous press. "I think I used to ... really, there was a period where I was hell-bent on saying, 'That's not true, that's not right, that's not fair.' And now I just think you have to let it roll off your back, and you realize, I think everyone knows it's all B.S. and like soap opera on paper. The main thing is to try to just keep refocusing back on what you know is true and what makes you guys happy and, you know, we know what our truth is. That's all just static," explained the actress. Before her recent media blitz, Aniston was plagued by rumors that she and fiance Justin Theroux have pulled the plug on their extended romance. Now after listening to this newly evolved woman, it seems more likely that she and Theroux have figured out how to make things actually work while under the celebrity spotlight and it might include keeping things extremely private.
  • Jennifer Aniston Wraps Up a Great Year, Could Care Less About Paparazzi

Jennifer Aniston might easily be wrapping up the most satisfying year of her career. Sure, she has made no apologies for loving all those years she spent playing Rachel Green on "Friends," but this year has been different. She took a risk by playing a stripped-down, chronic pain sufferer in the indie film "Cake," and the critical acclaim has come. She has already been nominated for an SAG and a Golden Globe for that performance, and many are anticipating an Oscar nod as well. While she cares about all the award buzz enough to have hired someone to guide her through it, she could care less about the paparazzi. Aniston recently did an interview with Yahoo Beauty's Bobbi Brown and explained how, when it comes to dealing with photographers chasing her, she now chooses not to give it much thought at all. "The truth is you just go, 'If they get a picture, that picture comes and goes, so who cares?' Then you have 30 mean people who sit at their computers and spend their entire day picking apart and insulting celebrities about how ugly they are just so they can feel better — I guess — about themselves. I don't understand it," said Aniston.
  • Jennifer Aniston Has Hired Lisa Taback to Spearhead Her Oscar Push

We have been talking a lot about Jennifer Aniston's role in the much-anticipated Indie flick, "Cake." When it first premiered last September, there was seemingly bizarre buzz attached to it -- in that insiders were really loving her performance enough to say that she might actually be in award contention. That caused the studio to bump up the release date to make sure that Aniston could be on the ballot this award season. The buzz became real last week when Aniston was nominated for both a Golden Globe and a SAG, but what started off as a shot in the dark has turned into a focused campaign to win with her hiring a top notch strategist, Lisa Taback.
