• Kiss Uses Backing Tracks During Concerts in Japan

    Despite being critical of pop singers who use backing tracks in 2012, Kiss has admitted to doing the same on their recent outing in Japan. The hard rockers needed to use some recorded parts of their new single "Samuari Son," which was made in collaboration with the Japanese group Momoiro Clover Z. The band explained in a tweet that the backing track has been used to recreate certain production aspects of the tune, 'Blabbermouth' noted.

There will be more than enough chances to catch the bands, as they will be on the road from June until October. The North American tour kicks off in Tampa, Florida, and will wrap 47 gigs later in Bismarck, North Dakota, "Billboard" noted.

    File this one under "Gnarly." Dave Grohl and the Foo Fighters made a stop in Rio de Janeiro last weekend to play in front of a jam-packed Maracana Stadium. While they have plenty of new material to choose from thanks to Sonic Highways, their eighth studio effort, the band opted to pay tribute to one of their favorite acts - Rush. The Foos tore through the Holy Triumvirate's "Tom Sawyer," blowing thousands of minds in the process before tackling KISS's "Detroit Rock City."

    Gene Simmons might think rock is dead but he's got a master plan for making it cool again: Perform singles with J-Pop acts and make it huge in another part of the world. Hence the forthcoming single "Yume no Ukiyo ni Saitemina," featuring idol act Momoiro Clover Z, which will be available for download on January 28. Whose idea it actually was isn't clear but the song is apparently written by KISS frontman Paul Stanley.

    The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame class of 2015 includes a bluesman, a Beatle and a chick who loves rock 'n' roll. Lou Reed, Green Day, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Double Trouble, Joan Jett and The Blackhearts and Bill Withers and the Paul Butterfield Blues Band will be inducted in April. Ringo Starr will receive the special honor of the Award for Musical Excellence as well, "Rolling Stone" reports. The ceremony will be held April 18 in Cleveland, and HBO will air the festivities some time in May. Tickets will be available to the general public Thursday, Dec. 18.

The singer took to Twitter to express his displeasure with the appearance, for which they played "Rock and Roll All Nite," but offered no specific reason why. It sounds like there was some sort of miscommunication between the band's camp and an executive in charge of the parade.
