• Lil Wayne, Migos in Studio Together

Lil Wayne has been embroiled in a public and heated battle with his label YMCMB over the release of his album "Tha Carter V," but that has not stopped him from continuing to record music. According to several Instagram posts — surely not by accident — Lil Wayne has been in the studio with various different producers and rappers working on new music in lieu of his album getting released, via "Hot New Hip Hop." The latest picture he posted on his Instagram puts him and Atlanta trio Migos in the studio together after a night out at LIV nightclub in Miami, Florida. With the caption "No sleep s-t," they might have just gone straight from the club to go record.
  • Suge Knight Praises Lil Wayne, Threatens Drake in Interview

Suge Knight had an interesting interview recently with TMZ in which he discussed his New Year's resolutions, Lil Wayne and Drake. He also mentioned Tupac Shakur. The video is a little unsettling considering the former Death Row Records CEO seems to be making some threats. Hopefully, Suge was just joking, but he does not strike me as one who likes to laugh. Suge is sporting a festive sweater in the video below, puffing on his signature cigar. The most surprising part of the interview is that the Black Kapital Records head would even talk to TMZ — which has caught him in some unflattering moments before. But he does, and the results are chilling. "I'm gonna make sure everybody gets their justice," he says after a brief pause. "It's a year for getting even." He does not elaborate on that, but it probably has something to do with Suge getting shot at Chris Brown's pre-VMA party in August. But he said it was not important who shot him, so who knows? "I don't think that's really important, who pulled the trigger and who I seen pulled the trigger," Knight told TMZ in a previous interview. "I think that I'm doing extremely well. I'm happy to be doing well and whatever happens, happens." When asked about a recent Tupac documentary, Suge urges real fans of the rapper to start asking questions and "be more aggressive."
  • '7/11' Remixed by French Montana, Detail [LISTEN]

Bronx rapper French Montana has teamed up with producer Detail for a remix of Beyoncé's recent single "7/11," which you can check out below. While the original track is a hard-hitting club banger, this remix replaces the synths with an airy acoustic guitar line and some piano. Instead of rapping, French Montana sticks to singing for this remix, since Beyoncé did plenty of rapping herself in the original version. You can check out French Montana and Detail's remix of Beyoncé's "7/11" here: The original "7/11" was released as the lead single from the platinum edition of Beyoncé's self-titled album, which was released last month on Nov. 24. You can check out her great DIY music video for the song here:

  • Yeezy Signs Kacy Hill to G.O.O.D. Music After Pusha T Suggests Lil Wayne Join Label

G.O.O.D. Music has a new addition and, despite Pusha T's suggestion, it is not Lil Wayne. Instead, Kanye West has decided to sign Kacy Hill to his label. Hill offered up her debut song "Experience" in September and served as a backup dancer for West during his Yeezus tour. During an interview with "Pigeons and Planes," the model-turned-singer revealed her newfound love for writing music. "'Experience' was one of the first songs that I wrote, so it was only appropriate to release it first," she said. "Writing it was such a freeing experience; I can definitely say it was the first time I felt a real connection with what I was doing in my life. The whole process was so organic and I never want to lose that energy." Hill, like West, also has a deep passion for fashion and hopes it will mesh into her music. She said she wants to make "music that feels good and creates movement in redefining pop and its interaction with fashion." With her G.O.O.D. Music signing, Hill joins the likes of Big Sean, Pusha T, John Legend, Q-Tip and Teyana Taylor.

  • Lil Wayne Reportedly Releasing 'Sorry for the Wait 2' for 'Tha Carter V' Delays

Despite all the drama swirling around Lil Wayne, "Tha Carter V" and his relationship with Cash Money Records, the "Believe Me" rapper is still hard at work making new music. According to reports, Lil Wayne is recording a mixtape in lieu of his indefinitely delayed final album "Tha Carter V." An Instagram picture posted online by Young Money rapper Fee Banks shows Lil Wayne in the studio with four individuals including — of all people — NBA player Glen "Big Baby" Davis, saying simply "Sorry 4 The Wait 2." Mack Maine also dropped another hint about "Sorry for the Wait 2" in a follow-up Instagram post, tagging it in a picture of the hulk, lending to the belief that the follow-up mixtape to "Sorry for the Wait" is in the works now.
  • 10 Best Cover Songs Of 2014

Because cover songs don't garner nearly as much traction on the radio or the charts as they once did, artists these days treat them more like fun little experiments, where they can try out things they normally wouldn't on one of their albums or original singles. This has resulted in plenty of inventive and fascinating covers, especially this past year. Here are the year's 10 best cover songs (in no particular order).

Young Money's president Mack Maine went on Miami radio 99 Jamz to try and clear the air on the Lil Wayne/Cash Money/"Tha Carter V" situation that has dominated discussion on websites and social media. Mack Maine spoke to host Felisha Monet in an interview about the hot topics affecting Young Money, like the continued delays of "Tha Carter V," Lil Wayne's recent outbursts on social media and how the relationship is between Young Money and Cash Money under the same YMCMB umbrella, via "Complex." Speaking on the status of the album, he reassures fans that it will be out in the first quarter of next year: "He's touching up the album and about to start another special project for the people. I can't give a definitive date [for "Tha Carter V"]. I can just say first quarter for sure. ... It's coming out. Don't get it twisted like it's not coming out." Mack Maine reveals that "Tha Carter V" will be released in two parts, as he emphasizes that the album is being released for the fans. He continues on the theme of the relationship between Lil Wayne and Cash Money, trying to downplay the public beef and who is at fault.
