• Ultra Music Festival 2015 Announces Lineup Phase 2

    With a month until kick-off, Miami's Ultra Music Festival announced the second phase of another hundred or so artists who will be joining the massive, three-day electronic music event at the end of March. Included in the new batch of artists will be Oliver Heldens, Dash Berlin, W&W, Boys Noize, Chromeo, Claude vonStroke & Green Velvet as Get Real, DJ Snake, Robin Schulz, Galantis, Tchami, Tommy Trash, Laidback Luke, The Magician, Zeds Dead, Cashmere Cat, EDX, Henrik B and many more.

    Tropical house producer, DJ Kygo has unveiled the official video for the live acoustic rendition of his recent single "Firestone" featuring the vocals of Australian singer Conrad. The live acoustic version features Kygo playing his crafted melodies on the piano, Conrad softly crooning the vocals and an outside percussionist, Simon Santunione gently guiding the track along with baton hits and cymbal crashes.

    Ultra Music Festival Europe has announced the first batch of artists who will be heading to Croatia in July. The festival will welcome headliners Alesso, Armin van Buuren, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Tiësto and Zedd to the festival, while The Chemical Brothers will lead the live initiative. Ultra Europe will feature the same "Resistance" concept that is being premiered at its Miami parent festival. Carl Cox will host his own specially curated Carl Cox & Friends stage once again at the Split-based festival for another underground-leaning stage.

    Ultra Music Festival is taking a deep dive underground in 2015. Traditionally it has reserved a stage for the old-school house and techno styles of electronic music for Carl Cox and his curated stage, with a smattering of other names across other stages away from the main stage. In 2015, Ultra is making a serious commitment to the underground, giving it two stages, Resistance and Carl Cox and Friends, which has not announced its lineup yet, but he will have to find some names outside those on the Resistance lineup.

    The lineup for Ultra Music Festival leaked before the New Year and took a lot of the momentum out of the announcement, but the festival has officially announced the first phase of artists who will be performing at Ultra. It has a mix of your typical headliners like Avicii, Alesso, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Hardwell and Skrillex, with big name underground house and techno acts like Carl Cox, Dixon, Maceo Plex, Deep Dish, and Marco Carola. As is tradition with the festival, it likes to bring in a live component of electronic music, so other artists like Clean Bandit, Porter Robinson, RAC and Gorgon City will all perform live via a press release.

    Ultra Music Festival, one of the largest and most renowned of its kind, has a potential leak on its hands. Someone posted a picture online of the first phase of artists who will be potentially playing the festival this upcoming March. The festival has not confirmed the lineup, but MAKJ posted the same lineup on his Facebook saying that he will be playing at the festival, so it is looking like a done deal.

Ultra Buenos Aires, the Argentinean edition of Ultra Music Festival has announced the first wave of artists who will be joining the festival this February on Feb. 20 and 21. The first batch of headliners will be Adam Beyer, who is hosting his own stage, Afrojack, Alesso, Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Dash Berlin, Marco Carola, New World Punx, the duo of Ferry Corsten and Markus Schulz, Porter Robinson performing live and Tiësto.

    Ultra Music Festival's Japanese outpost, Ultra Japan, has announced the dates for the 2015 edition of the festival. The festival will take place from Sept. 19 to Sept. 21, 2015. Heading into its second year, Ultra Japan is the second festival to be hosted on Asian soil. Alongside Ultra Korea, Ultra Japan has become one of the largest dance music festivals in Asia to satisfy a massive audience with an increasing appetite for dance music.

    It may have seemed like the Ultra Music Festival had gotten past all of the hurdles that came with last year's event. Next year's rendition isn't at risk yet but promoters can't be feeling too good with a new lawsuit on its hands. Erica Mack, the security guard who suffered serious injuries after festival-crashers knocked over a fence on top of her, has filed a lawsuit against Ultra for $10 million according to Dancing Astronaut.
