  • Concert Review: The Dopeness in Jersey City, 6/6/14

Though I've performed music in Jersey City before, I'd never gotten a true sense of the city's tight-knit art scene until I visited last night for a three-act show at the Dopeness, a Mexican restaurant with a performance space in the back room. As Steve Donahue of Young Legs described Jersey City to me, it's like "Brooklyn, but less smelly and terrifying." Poor Luke Bryan - his butt has gotten nearly as much attention as his talent. From getting grabbed by an older lady on Ellen to having Ellen herself play a clip of his various booty-shaking moments, his gluteus maximus has gotten a lot of attention and it was targeted yet again during his performance at the CMT Awards.
  • No After Party for Darius Rucker

Earlier this week, Darius Rucker hosted his 5th annual Darius and Friends Benefit Concert to raise money for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. When he and some of his friends arrived at the Red Door in Nashville for the after party that was being held in his honor, he was turned away at the door because he had left his ID on the bus!
