    The Foo Fighters eighth studio album is "almost halfway done," producer Butch Vig has told Kerrang (via NME). Vig, who is thought to be co-producing the album with Steve Albini, says the band is experimenting with challenging recording techniques similar to their process on 2011's Wasting Light, which was made in Grohl's garage.

    As previously reported, Coldplay has a new album coming out this spring called Ghost Stories. They've already dropped the singles "Midnight" and "Magic," and shared two other tracks, "Always in My Head" and "Another's Arms," at SXSW's iTunes Festival. Now they've announced their first string of dates in support of the new effort.

It's pretty well established who the stars are on this season of Idol -- Jena Irene, Alex Preston and Caleb Johnson, and those three had the strongest showings. The mediocre singers were mediocre and the boring guys were boring.
