    An unlikely duo, Marcus Mumford and Justin Timberlake have teamed up to perform a traditional Irish folk song "The Auld Triangle" for the upcoming Coen brother's film, Inside Llewyn Davis, due in theatres Dec. 6.

    There's something raw and real about a YouTube video that you don't see on a music video traditionally fit for television. In line with this spirit, the YouTube Music Awards were not what you would expect to see on the real tube. Actor and musician Jason Schwartzman (Coconut Records) co-hosted with comedian and musician Reggie Watts. The hosting was pretty much completely unscripted. Winners included Eminem, Taylor Swift and Lindsey Stirling. Lady Gaga and Tyler the Creator performed.

    Earlier today, Music Times reported that Lady Gaga was being sued by producer Teddy Riley over songwriting credits from 2009. Music lawsuits are going back even further however, as The Calling vocalist Alex Band is suing guitarist Aaron Karmin for being a hindrance to the group's comeback (the band last released an album in 2004).

Kelly collaboration "Do What U Want" and the intergalactic dance track "Venus."Today Mother Monster gives us "Dope," an almost four-minute piano-driven ballad in which she reflects on a lost love, her battle with addiction and other trifles that have caused pain in her life.

    Nadezhda Tolokonnikova of Pussy Riot has been transferred to a new prison Rolling Stone reports. Officials with Russia's Federal Penitentiary Service confirmed the news yesterday following the her family's announcement that the protestor had disappeared after being removed from the penal colony where she had previously been held.

    You've undoubtedly heard a member of the older generation complaining that the music you buy today just doesn't sound as good as it did way back when. They could be referring to newfangled genres such as dubstep, but they could also be referring to the audio quality as well. The sound quality of new music (regardless of whether you've bought the mp3, CD or vinyl version) is not up to snuff with the glory days of recorded music. This is because of "the loudness wars."
