Lily Allen had children in 2011 and moved to the country to give these girls the best care and love possible.

But the pop star is now speaking out on the harsh realities of choosing this route.

However, Lily Allen has since acknowledged that her two girls, whom she decided to prioritize over her career, have "totally ruined" her musical career, saying that "you can't have it all."

Lily Allen Details Harsh Reality of a Career Woman

The 38-year-old singer-turned-actress stated that she felt women should prioritize their careers over their children, and that she had made the decision to prioritize her profession.

"My children ruined my career. I love them and they complete me, but in terms of pop-stardom, they totally ruined it," she told the Radio Times Podcast.

"I get really annoyed when people say you can have it all because, quite frankly, you can't." She had compelling reasons to drop her career for her children though. "Some people choose their career over their children and that's their prerogative, but my parents were quite absent when I was a kid," she explained.

The "Smile" singer and her ex-husband, 45-year-old builder Sam Cooper, have two daughters, Ethel Mary, 12, and Marnie Rose, 10. In 2018, the singer released her last studio album, "No Shame."

After being married to 48-year-old "Stranger Things" actor David Harbour in 2020, Lily now resides in New York with her kids and has taken up acting.

The singer-actress is also working on a new album.

"Please when are you making a follow-up to your best LP, 'No Shame'?," someone asked the singer on X/Twitter last month, to which she replied: "I am making it now, I don't know how long it will take, but you will be able to hear some things soon."
