Nicki Minaj has been busy selling out arenas and stadiums for her ongoing Pink Friday 2 world tour, but she still managed to find time to release a sneaker collection.

Minaj's commendable sneaker collection even got the attention of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA).

Nicki Minaj Releases Vegan Sneaker Collection

Minaj teamed up with Loci in April to release a limited-edition sneaker collection.

Per the company's website, the Nicki Minaj and Loci collaboration "epitomizes Nicki's bold and vibrant style." The Queen of Rap is most notably known for fusing her high-fashion chic pieces with her street style - a great example of that was her Met Gala 2022 outfit, where she famously wore a feathery Burberry bustier gown, leather leggings, and a matching baseball cap.

The Nicki Minaj sneaker collection arrived online and in stores on Apr. 12, 2024, with prices ranging from $185 to $200. Minaj has since called the sneaker collaboration an "absolute dream come true" for her.

"Thank you to my team for helping me make this dream come to fruition," she revealed at the time. "This isn't a sponsorship. I'm an owner & partner & we will be showing you the first complete collection on 4/12. Love you BARBZ. THANK YOU."

PETA Salutes Nicki Minaj's Loci Vegan Sneaker Collection

PETA has since bluntly called out artists in the music industry who have since violated their ethical standards of treating live animals or animal byproducts. Among the artists that PETA has blasted were Kanye West, Megan Thee Stallion, Offset, and Cardi B.

Meanwhile, Minaj earned love from PETA for her amazing collaboration.

"Nicki Minaj has earned some serious kudos from PETA for her new sneaker line with the all-vegan brand LØCI, which will make a big difference by sparing vulnerable cows the slaughterhouse knife and showing that innovative animal-free materials - such as the recycled bottles, cork and bamboo - used for these shoes, are truly the way of the future," the organization told Billboard in a statement. "We look forward to seeing kind Barbz across the country rock these sneakers in good form."

PETA gave their seal of approval on Minaj's sneakers, revealing that the line did not include stuffed animals because Loci used recycled bottles, recycled nylon & brass, cork, bamboo, & bio leather instead of animal-derived materials.
