It's been a minute since we've heard new music from Kelly Clarkson, but it seems as though the new mother and wife will be dropping a brand new album next year. Earlier this week, Clarkson logged onto Twitter and announced that she will be releasing a brand new record in the first part of 2015.

It began as a bizarre week for Clarkson on Twitter and she sparked a few marriage trouble rumors with the dramatic tweet: "The high road can be a lonely place but I'd rather talk to my shadow than a mirage."

She was very quick to clear up message behind the tweet, insisting that it was actually a choice lyric from her latest project. "Okay haha my last tweet was referring 2 a song that's going on my next album. Things r great n my world! The song is about the high road :)," she wrote.

After the first hint of a new song, Clarkson's fans quickly were hungry for more information, which she provided in a reply to a follower. In the tweet, she admitted that she will be releasing a new album in the first few months of the new year.

Clarkson's last studio album, Stronger, was released in October 2011 and spawned the hit singles "Mr. Know It All," "Stronger" and "Dark Side."

Though it's been a solid three years since her last official LP, there have been touches of new Clarkson music here and there. Last year, she released the stunning holiday album Wrapped In Red and released the wedding-themed single "Tie It Up."

When she wasn't releasing new music, Clarkson got married to Brandon Blackstock and had an adorable baby girl, River Rose.
