Saturday Night Live has announced the next musical guest for its landmark 40th season. Yesterday (Nov. 3), the SNL Twitter account confirmed that Bruno Mars and Mark Ronson will take the legendary stage for the Nov. 22 Thanksgiving episode.

Mars and Ronson will take on SNL alongside the show's seventh host of the year, Annie star Cameron Diaz.

Though Mars and Ronson may seem a bit like an odd combination, according to Billboard the two artists are working on a new project together. Mars and Ronson are due to release a new single "Uptown Funk" on Monday, Nov. 10, as a part of Ronson's new album. Details surrounding the LP, however, are largely kept under wraps.

This episode will mark the second appearance for Mars on SNL. He previously hosted and performed for the fifth episode of season 38, which included a stellar Pandora themed sketch that showed off Mars's impression prowess.

Mars' return to the SNL stage is continuing to fuel rumors that the "Young Girls" singer is gearing up for album number three, following a planned performance at the U.S. version of Rock in Rio in 2015.

Though details are essentially nonexistent about Mars' next project, he did announce that he was working on a new album in a Facebook post on Sept. 7. "Now it's time to start writing chapter 3. See you soon hooligans. Brunz," he wrote.

Mars' last album, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released in December 2012.

Mars and Ronson's stint on Saturday Night Live will follow the Nov. 15 episode, where Kendrick Lamar is slated to perform alongside host Woody Harrelson.
