At an appearance at the Code/Media Conference in Las Vegas, Tyler, the Creator expressed his intention to launch an online television network that would be "cutting out the middleman."

His business partner Lloyd Braun of Santa Monica-based Whalerock Industries joined him onstage to discuss the project that, according to the rapper, would be similar to MTV and Cartoon Network and basically his brain "in one place." That could be an immensely creative and scary place to be.

He elaborated on the project and his motivations behind it.

"Technically, I'm creating my own network. I'm creating my own MTV, my own Cartoon Network on this thing. It's just basically my brain in one place ... My generation is the Internet," Tyler noted. "That's all we know. This thing controls our life. So, when you guys sit and try and figure out, and got these graphs and try to study stuff. You guys are studying us, so you can keep a job. You know what I'm saying? And it's the truth. Let's just cut the middleman out, which would be the cable company. And just get straight to the point."

The partnership between himself and Braun is odd for Tyler, whom he affectionately called an "old white guy," but knows that the partnership is necessary to get the concept off the ground.

According to Complex, the new service will be subscription-based, which will be a hurdle for Tyler, the Creator to overcome as a selling point to his fans. He got his start as a mixtape rapper on the Internet, galvanizing a strong following on social media and Tumblr.

Services like Hulu, Amazon and Netflix are cornering the market for high-quality, video content on the Web, so Tyler will need to show that his new network unburdened by the rules of TV will be worth the money of consumers.
