In honor of hip-hop legend Notorious B.I.G, chefs Dale Talde and Chris Jaeckle decided to honor the late rapper by redesigning the menu at New York's All'onda to be B.I.G-inspired on the anniversary of his death, March 9.

According to Billboard, today fell on the restaurant's guest chef series that worked out perfectly to honor the legendary rapper. Talde (of Talde restaurant) joined Jaeckle at All'onda to create this special menu.

"Dale and I are both huge hip-hop lovers and Biggie fans, so it was sort of a natural choice for us," Jaeckle told Billboard.

The chefs approached designing the menu by taking some of Biggie's lyrics and "his roots and heritage from Brooklyn."

Fans reminisce on hits like "Big Poppa," when B.I.G said:

"...So we can stream on the way to the telly, go fill my belly

A T-bone steak, cheese eggs and Welch's grape..."

Jaeckle and Talde are honoring that line by offering pieces of N.Y. strip steak and tenderloin with zabaglione and a grape-infused veal sauce to celebrate the "Big Poppa" lyrics.

It doesn't end there. Here are a few more examples of the B.I.G-inspired menu listed on the restaurant's Eventbrite page:

-An upscale take on strawberry cheesecake and Coke (in honor of the rapper's favorite order at Brooklyn Institute Junior's)

-Butter poached escargot, salsa verde, parsley root puree (derived from Biggie's lyrics in "Hypnotize"

-Curried oxtail patties, pickled scotch bonnet and ginger relish (honoring the rapper's Jamaican heritage).

Tonight's event will include Brooklyn dj J.Period and Black Thought from The Roots. J. Period a friend of Jaeckle's, curated a soundtrack of hip-hop instrumentals for the restaurant.

Jaeckle is excited about the honorary menu and event at his restaurant. The event will conclude at 10:00 p.m. tonight.

"It's gonna be a cool dinner," he told Billboard.

The Notorious B.I.G died 18 years ago today but fans still regard him as one of the greatest.
