It's been over three years since Katy Perry and Russell Brand divorced, but the "This Is How We Do" singer is continuing to open up about their relationship post-split. In a new interview, Perry revealed that the comedian and her have had no contact since he asked her for a divorce during the filming for her Part of Me documentary.

"He hasn't spoken to me since he texted me saying he was filing for divorce," Perry said in an interview with The Telegraph, noting that it didn't pain her anymore. "I don't want to talk about him - my songs will say what I need to say."

She famously took inspiration from her divorce for her music, penning singles "Part of Me," "Wide Awake" and "Ghost" and "By the Grace of God" about her failed relationship.

Perry also admitted that she's "fearless" when it comes to life and love, and she doesn't let any heartbreak hold her back.

"I don't like to live in fear because that traps you and your voices. Fear is a control tactic in the world that is negative and depressing and I don't want to be associated with it," she said.

Despite the divorce and on-again, off-again relationships with John Mayer and Diplo, Perry noted that she wasn't scared of love or bitter.

"No, absolutely not. I'm excited by whatever it brings. I'm excited by my own evolution," she said about falling in love again. "I don't want to end up bittersweet. I have to evolve, I have to continue to push people's perceptions of me. As an artist I like to do that, keep people on the edge of their seats."
