It's been a whirlwind of emotions for all things Nirvana -- from the praise of documentary Montage of Heck, the tribulations that came with conspiracy film Soaked in Bleach, hints of re-opening Kurt Cobain's murder case and the ability to rent his and Courtney Love's former apartment on Airbnb. Now, Nirvana's self-titled 2002 greatest hits and back-catalog compilation album, will be reiussed on vinyl and Blu-ray on August 28.

Via Universal Music, the 14 track Nirvana album originally available on CD in North America will be offered on high-definition digital audio, a conventional 33rpm version and a 45rpm double LP pressed on 200-gram heavy weight vinyl, notes Spin. Complete with a download card, the vinyl purchase will be packaged with liner notes in a furnace-black gatefold sleeve, according to Diffuser. The Blu-ray Pure Aduio version will be sold in a high resolution 96kHz 24-bit and in three stereo audio formats: PCM, DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD stereo.

The release includes the last song Nirvana recorded before Cobain's death in 1994, a previously unreleased studio version of "You Know You're Right." Nirvana gained an induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014 while this year, Brett Morgen's Montage of Heck gained familial support from Courtney Love and Francis Bean Cobain, although Kurt's lifelong friend and Melvin's frontman Buzz Osbourne felt displeased. However, Soaked in Bleach, the film that delves further into the Cobain murder mystery, didn't go over too smoothly with Cobain's widow. Love filed a Cease & Desist for the film to halt theater screenings.
