The Oscars are about to get a little pop of color in its lineup. Today (Feb. 21), it was announced that pop star P!nk will perform at the 2014 Academy Awards, joining the likes of Pharrell Williams, U2 and Bette Midler.

According to Popdust, P!nk's first time at the Oscars will take place during a new, different show segment. "We are very excited to welcome P!nk to the Oscar stage for the very first time. She is regarded as one of the greatest voices in pop music and one of the best performers of her generation, and we are thrilled to have her join us for a highly anticipated moment on the broadcast," Academy Awards producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron said in a statement.

This will be the first time P!nk takes to Oscars stage, but it isn't the first time she's performed at a major awards ceremony. Just last month, she did an impressive acrobatic turn at the Grammys with "Try" and performed a duet with fun.'s Nate Ruess for "Just Give Me A Reason."

Despite her award-winning and performing pedigree, P!nk expressed her Academy Awards excitement on her official Twitter account. Big news!!! I'd like to thank @TheAcademy for inviting me to perform on the #Oscars on March 2nd!! #holycow," she wrote after the news broke.

Of course, P!nk isn't the only Oscars performer this year. Earlier this week, it was announced Bette Midler would perform for the first time at the Oscars. Each of the Best Original Song nominees (Pharrell Williams, U2, Karen O and Idina Menzel) will also sing.

The Oscars will take place on March 2 with host Ellen DeGeneres.
