When it comes to owning Spotify's streams as a young musician, no one does it better than Ed Sheeran. Today (Aug. 18), the streaming service announced its "25 Under 25" musicians, and ahead of major pop players such as Ariana Grande, One Direction and Fifth Harmony, the title of the most-streamed young act of the year goes to none other than the "Thinking Out Loud" singer himself.

Sheeran was the most streamed young artist of the year, CBS News reports. He leads a star-studded list which also features Sam Smith, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, Meghan Trainor and more. Spotify compiled the list based on total streams, No. 1 hits, volume of streams and the company's own viral chart.

Sheeran's "Thinking Out Loud," which also led Wedding Playlists on Spotify earlier this year, was also the most streamed song of 2014.

Though the list is heavy on pop music, rap is represented through Rae Sremmurd and Silento. Hunter Hayes carries the flag for country music, while Disclosure and Martin Garrix represent EDM.
