Drake and Future created viral pandemonium when the two rappers announced their collaborative project, What a Time to Be Alive, but some of that momentum may have worn off already. In its second week on the charts, WATTBA suffered a steep drop in album sales. The surge in sales put the album far from platinum status.

According to HotNewHipHop, album sales for WATTBA dropped 81 percent after selling 334,000 pure albums in week one. The album only sold 65,000 albums in week 2. The drop has been reported as one of the worst declines for a No. 1 album from a debut week to a second week in hip-hop history.

Other albums with significant drops in sales its next week include Mac Miller’s Blue Slide Park (83% – 144,000 to 25,000), Kanye West’s Yeezus (80% – 327,000 to 65,000), Jay Z’s Kingdom Come (79% – 680,000 to 140,000) and Kanye West’s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (78% – 496,000 to 108,000).

It was originally projected that WATTBA would open with 500,000 album sales. The album still remains in the top 5, coming second to Fetty Wap’s self-titled debut. Upon its release, "30 for 30 Freestyle," "Jumpman," "Diamonds Dancing," "Scholarships" and "Change Locations" ranked among the album's most popular songs. Eight of the album's track appeared on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, dated Oct. 10, bumping Drizzy from 92 to a milestone 100 appearances on the chart.

WATTBA served as the second full length project for both rappers. Drake released his platinum-selling surprise album If You're Reading This It's Too Late in February. More recently, Future released his DS2 in July, following a trio of highly successful mixtapes.

During his set at Made in America, Future shared his plans to release another album. Drake, on the other hand, is still prepping his Views From The 6 LP. He seemingly hinted that the album would be released soon while announcing WATTBA.

Stay tuned for more updates.
