After being asked to visit Italy in a video where 1,000 Italian fans gathered together to play the Foo Fighters classic track "Learn to Fly" simultaneously, Dave Grohl and company finally decided to trek over to Cesena, Italy next month to keep their promise to those who participated in the viral video.  A tour date for a performance in Cesena is set.

The viral video posted back in July, featured 1,000 local drummers, guitarists and vocalists alike who assembled to cover the 1999 Foo Fighters track. It was filmed as a fan effort to lure the group to come perform in the area.  Front man Dave Grohl praised the group of musicians shortly after in a personally issued statement, agreeing to head to Cesena as a reward for their impressive efforts. As Spin reports, Grohl revealed that he and his bandmates would take Carisport in Cesena on November 3 while tickets go on sale today, October 23.

"I'll never forget that day that my phone was flooded with texts from friends, all saying 'Have you seen this???', 'Amazing!', 'So insane!' with an anonymous YouTube link attached," Grohl said in a statement according to Stereogum. "Assuming it was just another 'CAT GETTING STUCK IN A PAPER BAG' video, I didn't bite at first, but after the 10,000th message, I clicked the link and was absolutely blown away by what I saw." The video's organizer allegedly "cired like a baby" after seeing the cover gain increasing attention.

Grohl continued to detail just how much the cover meant to him not only because they chose the Foo Fighters but because an immense amount of time, effort and love were put into the execution and recoding of the video. The entire experience was humbling for the Foo front man.

"Ever since that day we have been looking forward to this incredible experience... We are beyond excited an honored to come play for Cesena. An experience like this comes once in a lifetime, so I'm looking forward to a once in a lifetime show."

The Foo Fighters just finished up their Sonic Highways touring circuit, which saw the musical assistance from an array of guests including Jewel for a rendition of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and the creation of a superdupergroup with Queen's Roger Taylor and Zeppelin's John Paul Jones for a performance of "Under Pressure."
