Carrie Underwood already has 2016 packed to the brim with her massive Storyteller Tour, but the "Smoke Break" singer has to squeeze in just one final performance at the end of 2015: Ryan Seacrest's New Years Rockin' Eve. The American Idol family is reuniting for one final performance to wrap up the year.

Seacrest made the announcement that Underwood is the first confirmed performer for ABC's annual Times Square broadcast on his Twitter on Wednesday (Oct. 28), welcoming back his old friend by reminding her just how cold it's going to be come Dec. 31.

Underwood will be performing in New York City for New Year's Eve just two months after the release of her latest album Storyteller, which was released on Friday, Oct. 23. The album has thus far been led by single "Smoke Break."

She follows in the footsteps of other massive superstars who have headlined New Year's Rockin' Eve in recent years. Taylor Swift helped New York usher in 2015 last year, and other recent past performers include Miley Cyrus, Carly Rae Jepsen, Florida Georgia Line and Macklemore.

New Year's Rockin' Eve will air at 8 p.m. on Dec. 31 on ABC. Jenny McCarthy and Fergie will return as hosts alongside Seacrest.
