One Direction's Big Payno remix of its new single "You & I" has arrived online. Today (April 16), the Liam Payne mixed version of the track arrived on SoundCloud, and it's just the sort of One Direction/EDM blend that you would expect... pretty tame.

The Big Payno remix pulls from the original instrumentation of "You & I" in the opening verse, with the orchestral backing getting pulled to the forefront, as the acoustic guitar gets a computerized makeover.

While the vocals in the original Midnight Memories version are a little more subdued, Payne pumped up the volume here to give more of a dance-friendly vibe. There's also a mild echoing effect going on here, with reverb highlighting the vocals. In the end, it makes for a chamber music effect, with the song sounding less like a strum along and more like a proper boy band track.

The choruses, where you'd normally expect for an EDM remix to explode, are actually quite subdued. There's a little bit of that thump-thump going on, but it's nothing as jarring as most electro remixes.

From there, the song builds a bit more, but this isn't really a bona fide club hit or remix, despite the fact that those are the vibes 1D are looking for in this version of "You & I." This sounds more like something you may accidentally hear on radio Club KISS on a Saturday night...

But, hey, if you don't like it, you can remix the track yourself.
