Last week, Young Thug finally shared a release date for his highly anticipated Slime Season 3 mixtape, but he’s had a change of heart as far as the project’s title. During a reignited Twitter beef with Future, Thug decided to swap out the name of the tape.

Right after Future took to his account to announce the release of more new music, Thug presumably took shots at his fellow Atlantan. Although he sent out his tweets without mentioning the rapper by name directly, the timing and their previous social media spat leave little room to believe that Thugger could have been referring to anyone else.

Following his initial tweet, the two went back and forth with subliminal blurbs before Thug took a note from Kanye West's book and abruptly decided to change the name of his mixtape to IM-UP.

Back in November, producer Metro Boomin, who has worked with both rappers in the past, sent out a slew of loaded tweets, crediting Future with popularizing the current mixtape trend. Thug, apparently took offense to the tweets and proceeded to throw major shade at Future, referring to him as the Tito Jackson to his Michael. He also dismissed working with Metro in the future and killed any hopes for their Metro Thuggin project.

Apparently, any beef that may have been put on the back burner has officially been rekindled.

In October, Metro noted similarities between the two Atlanta rappers during an interview with Pitchfork.

"Working with Thug and working with Future feels the same. They don't sound like each other, but their creative process and their level of talent is the same. Anybody who knows both of them would agree," the 22-year-old producer said.

As previously reported, Thug's tape, formerly known as SS3, will be released on Friday (Feb. 5), the same day DJ Khaled is slated to premiere Future's new project on his Beats 1 show. On Wednesday (Feb. 3), Future announced that EVOL will be available for pre-order at midnight.
