It's no surprise that Zayn Malik is a talented singer - fans of One Direction have known about his smoky low range and stunning falsetto now for years. But now, in a new acoustic version of his debut solo single "Pillowtalk," Zayn is once again proving that he's got the chops to make it on his own.

Zayn has dubbed the acoustic version of "Pillowtalk" as a "living room session." Backed simply by an acoustic guitar, Zayn starts off simple, slow and low in this new take on his breakout track. But, as the song grows, the 23-year-old singer begins to show off his full range, demonstrating his sweet, sweet falsetto in the process.

With the heavy-handed R&B production stripped away, "Pillowtalk" is nearly unrecognizable in this new form but no less of a banger.

The release of the living room session version of "Pillowtalk" should have come as no surprise to dedicated fans of Zayn's. Hours before releasing the track to Soundcloud, Zayn announced he had joined Snapchat and teased the acoustic song.

"Pillowtalk" is the debut single from Zayn, and the track is leading the release of his upcoming solo album Mind of Mine, which is due for release on March 25 (the exact one year anniversary of when Zayn left One Direction). Though a full tracklist for Mind of Mine is forthcoming, the album is also expected to include tracks such as "She," "Mind of Mine," "Befour" and "Late Nights."
