Lady Gaga is reportedly in talks to play the 2017 Superbowl halftime show, which will take place at the NRG Stadium in Houston. According to sources, the NFL is interested in the singer due to her performance of the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in 2016. Coldplay, Beyonce and Bruno Mars were chosen for the halftime stage that year.

Sources told Billboard that Gaga will be performing but the NFL has not confirmed her appearance at this time. When the publication reached out to the NFL they received a statement that read, “We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, at this point we do not have a final decision. We’re happy there is so much excitement about the show.”

If she does perform, it will be just another of several high-profile performances in recent years. In 2015, Gaga performed at the Academy Awards and was then nominated for an Oscar for her hit “Til It Happens to You.” It was nominated for best original song and appeared in the documentary for The Hunting Ground. Gaga also notably received a 2016 Golden Globe for best actress in a miniseries or television film for her appearance in the FX series American Horror Story: Hotel.

Gaga released her new single “Perfect Illusion” this past Friday (Sept. 9). It is the first to be lifted from her upcoming album.

“Perfect Illusion” was released this past Thursday (Sept. 8) to two radio stations around 11 P.M. and shot up the charts almost instantly. It was the most shared song on Twitter in the 24 hours before noon that day, when it had only been available for 13 hours in the 24-hour cycle.

Her forthcoming studio LP has been executive produced by Mark Ronson and additionally features a collaboration with Florence Welch of Florence + The Machine, as well as Father John Misty. Gaga reportedly told Elvis Duran this past Monday (Sept. 12) that the album will be out “really soon.”
