Carrie Underwood just shared her first selfie since her accident last year. In the snap, Underwood is joined by her husband, Mike Fisher.

The photo that Underwood uploaded on her Instagram account on Friday did not feature her entire face. The singer's mouth is covered with a huge red and white X sign, which shows her support for Red Cross.

Fans of the American Idol winner posted words of encouragement on her social media account. Some of them said that Underwood looks gorgeous. Others reminded the "Jesus, Take the Wheel" singer that she is beautiful with our without her scars.

Last month, Underwood also shared a cryptic photo on her Instagram account. In the snap, the singer covered her head and mouth since it was very cold then. Fans are convinced that Underwood's scars in the mouth area have not yet healed.

Carrie Underwood's Accident

In November, Underwood suffered a scary fall down some steps in her home in Nashville, Tennessee. The singer revealed that she broke her wrist during the accident, and she also said that she needed 40 to 50 stitches on her face.

"There is also another part of the story that I haven't been ready to talk about since I have still been living it and there has been much uncertainty as to how things will end up. It's crazy how a freak random accident can change your life," said Underwood.

Following her accident, Underwood announced the cancellation of her benefit show in her hometown. Weeks after her surgery, Underwood said that she is recovering well. However, she does not look the same.

"I honestly don't know how things are going to end up but I do know this: I am grateful. I am grateful that it wasn't much, much worse. And I am grateful for the people in my life that have been there every step of the way," said Underwood.
