Country singer Carrie Underwood donated $10,000 to help a policeman involved in a vehicular accident in her hometown of Checotah, Oklahoma.
The country singer heard that Assistant Police Chief Justin Durrett suffered a broken neck, bruised spine, and other separate injuries after his car toppled over and ejected him. He was admitted to the ICU.
A GoFundMe campaign was launched hoping to help the assistant chief and his family pay for the medical bills. The fundraiser is hoping to collect $20,000 by next week.
"If you do read this please pray for him and the family suffering and Justin," the letter attached to the GoFundMe campaign read. "He just misses his kids wants to walk and do his duty as a police officer and keep on keeping everyone safe."
The campaign creator also said that Assistant Chief Durrett " cannot feel from chest down," and he also suffered an infection that affected his lungs.
Carrie Underwood's Good Heart
Right now, the GoFundMe has collected over $14,000 from 70 people. It received a boost after the former American Idol pledged $10,000.
According to Tess Maune, a reporter born and based in Oklahoma, Underwood made the donation under her married name Carrie Fisher.

Carrie Underwood's Accident
Underwood too was involved in an accident late last year that forced her to cancel performances and other appearances. The 34-year-old fell on the steps outside her home in Nashville and suffered serious injuries including a cut on her face that required 40 to 50 stitches. She warned fans in an open letter that she might look different after the surgery.

The multi-Grammy Award-winning singer has also been involved in a rumor alleging that she might divorce her professional ice hockey player husband, Mike Fisher, after almost eight years of marriage. An anonymous source told In Touch Weekly that Underwood and Fisher have not been spending a lot of time together, which caused a rift in their relationship. However, looking at Underwood's Instagram and Twitter, there is no indication that the celebrity couple is not in good terms. Earlier this month, the mother of one said that she is proud of her husband who is coming out of retirement this coming spring.
