Jaden Smith bringing non-human dates to the Met Gala is becoming a tradition. This year, the 19-year-old came to the event with his Gold Disc.

Jaden Smith Celebrates Gold Certification

Aside from internet philosopher and actor, the son of Will Smith also dabbled in music. Last year, he released his album SYRE which produced a couple of hit singles including "Icon."

According to Paper Magazine, the track has already been streamed over 60 million on Spotify since its release in November.

Apparently, the song has already sold over 500,000 copies and therefore, was awarded a gold certification by the Recording Industry Association of America. The news was revealed at the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum of Art on Monday, May 7.

Wearing a Louis Vuitton patchwork jacket in white, black tee, white pants, and sneakers, the multi-hyphenated artist walked the red carpet of the fashion and art event with his gold certification on hand.

Smith, who was born to famous parents, has been attending the annual event since 2016. Last year, he also shocked everyone when he brought his own dreadlocks at the event as his date.

Jaden Smith Steps Out With Girlfriend

While Smith is bringing non-human dates to the Met Gala, he has a very human girlfriend. The couple recently spent time with each other in New York City. Hours after he had walked the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, he was spotted on a date with his 18-year-old girlfriend, Odessa Adlon.

Trading his Louis Vuitton jacket for a black hoodie, the young artist had his arm around the brunette who also opted for comfy clothing.

Smith has reportedly been dating Adlon since around April last year or months after he called it quits with his girlfriend of two years Sarah Snyder. Adlon is a Hollywood-newcomer who played small roles in Nashville and Better Things.

The young lovers were also spotted on Monday night at the Met Gala after-party hosted by this year's co-chair, Rihanna. Vanity Fair reported that Smith even had an impromptu performance at the venue. He performed the song "Icon" in front of the celebrity guests.

Last week, the son of Will and Jada Pinkett Smith also appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to perform "Icon." The young singer-actor is in the middle of VISION, his first solo tour, in support of SYRE.
