Christina Aguilera Talks About Her 'Liberation' Album

Earlier this month, the former The Voice coach talked about Liberation and said that her upcoming album bends more toward R&B and hip-hop. The album also features her collaboration with Demi Lovato, Ty Dolla $ign, 2 Chainz, and other artists.

"To me, there's nothing like an amazing hip-hop beat. At the end of the day, I'm a soul singer," said Aguilera.

She also said that once the word pop star is removed from her title, fans would actually realize that she is a soulful singer. Soul music is what truly inspires her.

Aguilera also said that for Liberation, she has decided to strip back her image. She is no longer super label-driven and confined to being commercially successful.
