Shawn Mendes's music video for "Nervous" features various pairs of hands. The song is included in Mendes' self-titled album Shawn Mendes.

'Nervous' Music Video

The almost three-minute clip opens with Mendes sitting in a studio while playing his guitar. While singing the first few lines to his song, a woman's hand appears and touches Mendes's chest. He holds the woman's hand while saying that his heart started to race.

Mendes previously released a vertical music video for "Nervous," which was in black and white. The full-color version of the exact same clip, but in horizontal format, was released on June 11.

The singer took to social media to break the news to his fans. He uploaded a chromatic still frame of the horizontal music video and said that it will arrive noontime.

Both videos see Mendes strumming his guitar while pairs of anonymous female hands touch his face, chest, arms, and other parts of his body. The other songs on Shawn Mendes are "In My Blood," "Lost In Japan," "Where Were You In the Morning," "Like To Be You (feat. Julia Michaels)," "Fallin' All In You," "Particular Taste," "Why," "Because I Had You," "Queen," "Youth (feat. Khalid)," "Mutual," "Perfectly Wrong," and "When You Are Ready."

Shawn Mendes Talks About His New Album

The 14-track LP was released on May 25. Following the release of Shawn Mendes, the 19-year-old singer opened up about working on the compilation. He said that his walls were broken down the minute he started writing his songs.

Mendes said that he initially wanted Shawn Mendes to be a rock album. However, he woke up one day and felt he wanted to write R&B tracks.

The singer, later on, realized that his fans could not care less about the genre of his album. As long as his songs resonate with them, he knows that they would listen to his songs.

A Battle With Anxiety

During his same interview, Mendes revealed his battle with anxiety and said that he dealt with it through his music.

"About a year prior was my first time kind of experiencing anxiety and I wrote down in my notes the feelings of exactly what was going on because I wanted to make a song about that. And it came out, and friends and family and people and fans were saying, 'This is what I needed. Thank you so much for being this honest.' After that, I was just so excited for everything..." said Mendes.
