Lady Gaga announced that the release of her new album "Chromatica" will be postponed. She posted on her Twitter and Facebook accounts "that after a lot of deliberation, I've made the incredibly tough decision to postpone the release of Chromatica".

The multi-awarded singer-songwriter believes that with the ongoing global-wide crisis of coronavirus, it is not the right moment to drop fresh tracks. It was planned to debut on April 10. She stated that a new 2020 release date would be advised soon.

"Chromatica" and Lady Gaga's Plans

Lady Gaga's set performances in MGM, Las Vegas from April 30 - May 11 were also postponed. She says she is hopeful that the other lined-up shows in May will continue as scheduled.

Gaga further admits that she had a secret set lined up at Coachella, the most anticipated annual music event, which is also postponed. The singer also reveals that she had planned many fun surprises along with the album's launch, including a Chromatica Ball tour intended this summer.

Coachella will be taking place in October 2020 instead of the original April schedule.

Gaga warmly shares, "This is such a hectic and scary time for all of us, and while I believe art is one of the strongest things we have to provide joy and healing to each other during times like this." Throughout her heartfelt note, she stresses the impact of the coronavirus crisis in the lives of the people. She encourages fans to stay home and follow social distancing.

"Instead I prefer that we spend this time focusing on finding solutions," she writes. She mentions the importance of providing medical assistance for the health industry, meals to feed public school kids, and financial aid to those who are most affected.

"Chromatica" is her sixth album and the first studio release after 2016's "Joanne." "Stupid Love", her single released on February 28, is included in the line-up of new tracks. The music video has reached 48 million views on YouTube.

The new single marks her return to the dance pop-genre, a comeback to the Lady Gaga sound for which she is most famous. The release of the single landed at No.5 in its debut in Billboard charts. It is so far the singer's best debut ranking in nine years.

Last February, she revealed to Beat 1's Zane Lowe "we are definitely dancing" about "Chromatica." She said that with her new album, she wants to make people happy every single day.

Covid-19 Solidarity

Lady Gaga earlier shared her strong stand about self-quarantine. The "Shallow" singer says not to hang out with elderly people and in large groups. She wrote on Facebook last March 15, "Trust me, I talked to God -she said we're gonna be ok."

Her post was retweeted by no less than the World Health Organization (WHO) director Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. He thanked Gaga for showing solidarity and advising the world on how to handle the Covid-19 pandemic.

On March 16, she shared her more in-depth insight about the coronavirus as not prejudiced. "I think it's so important to acknowledge that we are and must be a global kind singular community. We can't do this without kindness," she posted on her Facebook page. She inspires everyone to be a part of the solution to a world problem.
