Kanye West and his listening party broke a new record and reached a milestone no one ever came near yet.

Following his full-packed "Donda" listening party, Kanye immediately bagged an honor on Apple that no artist ever scored yet.

A news outlet confirmed that the event at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta broke a record on Apple Music Global Livestream. To be exact, over 3.3 million viewers reportedly joined the listening party virtually.

The number is way higher than the previous records made by other artists. In comparison, the Verzuz battle between Gucci Mane and Jeezy saw 1.8 million viewers.

Meanwhile, over 42,000 fans who paid between $20-$100 per ticket witnessed the epic performances personally.

Kanye is expected to gain more soon as his official album has not been released yet. Instead of dropping the album on Friday at midnight, a representative for Universal Music said that the record will be available on August 6 instead.

While his performance was a gift for his late mother and fans, the rapper was surprised with a gift from Atlanta City Council.

Kanye West Received Gifts In Return

Following the listening event of his 10th studio album, Kanye received two monumental gifts from the City of Atlanta.

As shared by Black Music History's Twitter account, the City of Atlanta proclaimed July 22 to be a "Kanye West Day."

In addition, Kanye received a gift for his late mother, Dr. Donda C. West. The Dr. Donda West Meritorious Service Award honors the late mother for her stint as a member of Morris Brown College.

She served as a teacher of HBCU for two decades and worked as the chairperson of the English Department.

After receiving the gifts, the rapper reportedly got super emotional as he remembered his late mother. In 2007, his mother died after receiving multiple cosmetic surgeries in one day. She had a tummy tuck, breast reduction, and liposuction on the day leading to her death.

The autopsy report said that the late matriarch underwent 5 1/2 hours of surgery. She was prescribed Vicodin for pain and refused to stay in the facility despite her doctor's advice.

Following her death, Dr. Jan Adams told INSIDE Edition that "the lengthy liposuction, tummy-tuck and breast-reduction surgery went ahead without any issues."

However, Donda reportedly experienced complications after returning home. She suffered from a sore throat and tightening in her chest before she lost her consciousness later that evening.

Unfortunately, she did not make it and was pronounced dead in the emergency room.
