Tobias Slater, more commonly known as Toby Slater, was the lead singer of 90's Britpop band Catch, died at 42, Music Ally confirms.

The music education company expressed their shock in a lengthy note celebrating Slater's life and his contributions to the company.

Toby Slater was a crucial part of Music Ally in the early 2000s and was a co-owner of the company.

Slater played a significant role in the company's training and development of most of its members. However, he left Music Ally to pursue his passion in organizing events and building a community of like-minded learners and musicians.

"Always wise beyond his years I remember our first meeting when he came to interview me and I ended up interviewing him as he seemed to know so much more than I did," Bridley stated in his letter to Slater.

Music Ally CEO Paul Bridley boasts that Toby "stood out from other people," as he was "multitalented, smart, so polite,".

Bridley regarded slater as an integral part of the British music industry at the time as he was the first musicians to embrace the internet.
