Eighteen years after their iconic team-up in the Super Bowl Halftime Show, Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake performed at the Super Bowl halftime show - astonishing football fans worldwide.

Now they seemed like quietly reuniting to perform once more.

According to a person close with the production, Timberlake is reported to make an appearance in Jackson's highly anticipated two-night Lifetime/A&E documentary, which premieres on Friday.

The source says that "Justin [Timberlake] is going to be there". In the said documentary, the source reveals that just like their Super Bowl big reveal, the male singer will surprisingly appear on Jackson's documentary.

The infamous 'wardrobe malfunction'

When Janet Jackson performed at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2004, she pulled out Justin Timberlake as a surprise guest.

After the due performed Timberlake's song "Rock Your Body, Justin tore off part of Jackson's top, exposing her breasts to millions of viewers as he sang the lyrics, "I will have you naked by the end of this song."

Following the iconic "wardrobe malfunction", some call it "Nipplegate", Timberlake's then-flourishing solo career took off, while Jackson's career came spiraling down.

The pop icon then issued an apology shortly, saying it was not her intention "that it go as far as it did" as the decision for the supposed-to-be costume reveal was decided after the final rehearsals of the performance.

Her invitation to the Grammy Awards has been revoked despite Jackson's sincere apology. Timberlake was still permitted to attend the Grammys and even won "Best Male Pop Vocal Performance award".

The documentary

According to the teaser for the singer's documentary "Janet Jackson," Justin Timberlake even reached out to Jackson to play with him at the Super Bowl Halftime show in 2018.

On the other hand, Timberlake did not participate in any of the documentary's promotional videos, which also included Missy Elliott, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, and Samuel L. Jackson.

Several television sources reported that screeners for Jackson's documentary were released this week for the first three hours, but the fourth hour is still a secret.

According to a TV insider, Jackson is holding the documentary so close to her that "Lifetime has not even seen the screener yet!"

It is interesting to note that both Jackson and Timberlake are represented by the same publicist, who, of course, declined to comment.
