Many music acts have been canceling their tour dates in Ukraine and Russia due to the ongoing crisis that's been happening in the countries. Slipknot is joining other bands, and they explained the reason why.

The metal band issued a statement to their social media accounts, saying they will be postponing their tours in Kyiv, Moscow, and Minsk.

Despite looking forward to seeing their fans again after the COVID-19 lockdown, they had to cancel their shows in support of their community and "in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, for whom the struggle continues."

"We also acknowledge that our Russian and Belarusian fans are overwhelmingly united with the Ukrainians in their fight for peace," they added.

The band also noted that the safety and well-being of their international fans is their number one priority.

As the band canceled their shows in three cities from the two countries, Slipknot assured fans that more dates were coming in the future.

"New dates will be forthcoming," they wrote.

However, there are still no updates on what country or city they are headed next.

What Should Fans Expect On Their Upcoming Tour?

Before traveling the world, the band will start their tour across different cities in America, and the band's frontman, Corey Taylor, teased fans on their setlist or the songs they will be performing.

Speaking in a Q&A segment during the Mad Monster Party convention in North Carolina, the singer said fans are going to hear songs that they haven't played in a long time.

Slipknot's 'Knotfest' Outside America

In early reports, the metal band will be performing in other cities outside the United States aside from their canceled shows in Ukraine and Russia.

The highly-anticipated "Knotfest" will also take place in Rudolf Weber Arena in Oberhausen, Germany, this July 30, 2022.

Aside from Slipknot, fans can expect several music acts performed by In Flames, Ghostmane, and more.

"Knotfest" is not a typical concert as the band wanted it to be a "dark carnival" that features big tents, stilt walkers, graffiti walls, amusement park rides, burlesque dancers, and many more.

Band member Shawn "Clown" Crahan previously spoke to Rolling Stone, explaining that their show is all about having fun and "bringing something to the world of rock & roll."
