Why Did Phil Collins Retire?
Despite his fruitful career, rumblings about his retirement rose when he announced in 2011 that he was taking time off due to health problems.
While his representatives clarified that the drummer had no intention of retiring, they changed their statement later the same day and said that Collins would quit to focus on his family.
Fans still tasted victory, though, as he officially came out of his retirement in 2015.
Is Phil Collins Deaf?
Collins faced several health issues in the past years, including a spinal injury that currently affects his capacity to play drums. He told BBC Breakfast in September that his vertebrae were crushing his spinal cord due to the position he follows whenever he drums in.
While it surely affected his whole career already, it was not the first time he faced a tragic health problem.
In 2000, he suffered sudden deafness in one ear due to a viral infection. He was able to stabilize his hearing again, but his self-esteem did not bloom that much again since that incident.
