BTS officially became the top contributor in the global recorded-music revenues, multiple outlets confirmed.

As their journey as the K-pop supergroup continues, BTS set a new record again by becoming the World's Top Artist who contributed a lot to the global recorded music market.

The International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), as reported by Variety, revealed that the market grew by 18.5 percent in 2021. This was reportedly pushed by the growth in paid subscription streaming.

The IFPI's Global Music Report on Tuesday showed that the total revenues for last year reached $25.9 billion.

BTS became the No. 1 and one of two Asian acts to make it to the list. Following the K-pop superstars are Taylor Swift, Adele, Drake, and Ed Sheeran.

Meanwhile, The Weeknd, Billie Eilish, Justin Bieber, another K-pop group Seventeen, and Olivia Rodrigo completed the top 10.

BTS also made it to the top 10 global digital singles after their hit song, "Butter," ranked fourth by hitting 1.76 billion streams.

The Weeknd topped the list with "Save Your Tears," which reached 2.15 billion streams. Meanwhile, The Kid Lario and Justin Bieber's "Stay" and Dua Lipa's "Levitating" ranked second and third, respectively.

BTS Reaches New Milestone With Butter

Aside from being the World's Top Artist, BTS also extended the "Butter" record on Billboard.

This week, Billboard said that the hit song reached its 14th week on the Hot Trending Songs chart on March 26. They reached the new feat due to the data collected from Twitter.

For what it's worth, the group reportedly got mentioned in 4.7 million tweets in the March 11 to 17 survey. BTS took over the spotlight again after their recent wins in different shows and events, including the 2022 Japan Golden Disc Awards and the nomination at the 64th Grammy Awards.

In related news, there is a recently-released BTS game inspired by John Wardle's Wordle. This involves guessing a five-letter word once per day. BTS Chart Data first released the BTS's Wordle format earlier this year before dropping its update version, BTS Heardle.s

This shows the lyrics to a different song each day and allows players to guess it seven times by choosing the title from a drop-down menu. Players who do not get it right on the first try will hear a snippet of the song. It then gets longer with each incorrect guess.
