Lollapalooza 2022 is going to be the talk of the town when it happens. It features a diverse set of headliners that curiously... seems likely to work.

This year's Lollapalooza event, which will take place in Chicago's Grant Park from July 28 to 31, will feature BTS's J-Hope as the festival's headlining act. A first for a South Korean singer to perform on the main stage of a major U.S. music festival, J-Hope will close it out on Sunday, July 31.

Tomorrow x Together, a K-pop band, will also make their North American festival debut at Lollapalooza on Saturday, July 30.  Metallica, Dua Lipa, J. Cole, and Green Day are just some of the artists who will perform alongside J-Hope at this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The festival's Twitter page has also lately posted a complete breakdown of the festival's set times.

"I'm pleased to welcome J-Hope and Tomorrow x Together into the Lollapalooza family," said Lollapalooza founder, Perry Farrell, in a statement.

"These artists have been given extraordinary skills in communication. Their global fanbase speak different languages but exhibit a passionate affinity for their music. Lolla is the place where all music genres dwell in peace. These are the superstars of the global phenomenon of K-Pop, and we are very delighted to have them at this year's festival."

The news of J-Hope being added to the list of stars headlining on that date comes with the announcement that Doja Cat will be cancelling her commitment to this event.

It's not something about this festival that made her cancel though because she has other summer festival gigs that were cancelled too. According to the singer, it's because of her throat health concerns.

The singer has even taken to Twitter to explain that she was going to have tonsil surgery and subsequently, need the time to recover.

As one of the first major festivals to reopen following the pandemic's shutdowns, Lollapalooz first returned to Grant Park last year.

The celebration does not end with the performance. Fans should also be on the lookout for a variety of aftershow acts.

The official aftershow lineup for this year's festival has already been announced. It begins on Tuesday, July 26 with Caroline Polachek, Niko Rubio, and DJ Moonlanding at Metro, and continues through Sunday, July 31 with The Wombats at House of Blues.

Aftershows also include Tove Lo with Buzz (The Vic, 7/27); Billy Strings (Metro, 7/27); Remi Wolf (Park West, 7/27); Gecapalooza with 100 gecs, Glaive, Underscores, ericdoa, Midwxst and Tony Velour (Radius, 7/27); Sampa the Great (Schubas, 7/27); Girl in Red with Del Water Gap (Bottom Lounge, among others.

Porno for Pyros, whose recent Welcome to Rockville concert was their first actual set since the '90s will continue their reunion with their own Lollapalooza Aftershow on July 30 at Metro with Crawlers.
