Many fans have been comparing The Rolling Stones to The Beatles for decades, and the former's frontman Mick Jagger doesn't hold back on his comments about their rival group in previous interviews. Recently, the band made a big move by covering the iconic band's song in their concert.

According to Inside Hook, the Stones played their first concert in Liverpool after nearly five decades. Since the city is The Beatles' hometown, the band decided to pay homage to their rival group by covering one of their songs.

The group played "I Wanna Be Your Man." Composed by the late John Lennon and Paul McCartney, the track has two versions as recorded by both The Beatles and The Stones.

Both songs were released in 1963.

In a previous interview, Jagger revealed that Lennon and McCartney were the first ones who approached them about the song.

At first, the rock legend thought it sounded "pretty commercial" but revealed that it was exactly what they were looking for at the time.

"I haven't heard it for ages but it must be pretty freaky 'cause nobody really produced it. It was completely crackers, but it was a hit and sounded great onstage," he added. (via Far Out Magazine)

The last time they played the track in a live setting was ten years ago at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
