Justin Bieber recently shocked the world with his Ramsay Hunt syndrome diagnosis, but he is not the only famous person who suffers from facial paralysis.

In a YouTube video, Bieber revealed that the viral condition is caused by varicella-zoster. It then attacked the nerve in his ear and other facial nerves, causing him to face the dreaded issue.

"It will go back to normal -- it's just time and we don't know how much time, but it's going to be OK. Obviously my body's telling me I gotta slow down. I hope you guys understand and I'll be using this time to just rest and relax and get back to 100%," he said.

The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai explains that the Ramsay Hunt syndrome can cause hearing loss, vertigo, and facial droop.

Although the "Love Yourself" hitmaker only caught it recently, he is just one of the celebrities who dealt with facial paralysis.

Angelina Jolie

In 2016, the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" actress revealed that she was diagnosed with a similar facial paralysis, Bell's Palsy. The disease causes temporary facial paralysis due to damage or trauma to the facial nerves.

At the same time, Jolie also had to deal with hypertension.

"Once other potential causes of facial paralysis are excluded, including tumor, Lyme disease, and shingles, the specific cause of Bell palsy is usually not identified," professor of neurology and neuromuscular diseases at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, David Simpson, MD, said.

Sylvester Stallone

Stallone has been one of the most famous actors in Hollywood, and his facial paralysis has also been a notable feature of him through the years.

When his mother, Jacqueline, was pregnant, the matriarch suffered multiple complications that led her OBGYN to use two pairs of forceps. These accidentally injured a nerve that left his face paralyzed.

George Clooney

The Golden Globe winner also suffered from Bell's palsy when he was in high school. Although he suffered bullying while dealing with the syndrome, Clooney saw it as a blessing in disguise as it taught him to make fun of himself and not take it too seriously.

Katie Holmes

Although Holmes' health never received enough spotlight, the actress developed facial paralysis which caused her to have her classic facial smirk.

Roseanne Barr

The actress and comedian was only three years old when she woke up with the left side of her face paralyzed. While she recovered weeks later, she developed the syndrome again years after.

Barr once opened up about it on her Twitter account, saying that she developed palsy in her head and hands due to stress when she grew older.

Pierce Brosnan

Even the "James Bond" star was not exempted from catching the disease. He was diagnosed with Bell's Palsy in the 1980s while filming a movie. In order to continue filming, the actor kept the affected side of his face away from the cameras until the paralysis was cured.

Terrence Howard

Like most celebrities, the "Empire" star developed paralysis when he was in high school. When he learned that he had a 95 percent chance of his face getting permanently paralyzed, he made his own efforts and delivered electrical shocks to his face through his father's electric razor.
