Lizzo has been chastised for incorporating an ableist slur in the lyrics of her new single "Grrrls."

The song was published last week and has already sparked some online criticism from handicapped persons and disability campaigners.

"Hold my bag, b--h, hold my bag / Do you see this s-t?" Lizzo sang in the first stanza. I'ma sp-."

The term is taken from the word "spastic," which is more derogatory in the United Kingdom than in the United States. It is frequently used as a synonym for "freak out."

However, disability organizations in the UK and the UK have challenged the word's usage and origins.

Fans of Lizzo, real name Melissa Jefferson, slammed the phrase on social media, with some requesting for it to be censored or removed, according to the BBC.

"My condition Cerebral Palsy is labeled as Spastic Diplegia (where spasticity refers to unending painful tightness in my legs)," one advocate wroteon Twitter. "Your new song makes me angry and sad."

"Please modify your new song to exclude the ableist insult," said another. "It is not too late to listen with humility and delete a disparaging, damaging, or hurting statement. No, feminism does not exclude handicapped people, so please."

"As someone who advocates women, plus size persons, and those whom society treats unjustly, Lizzo preaches inclusion and should do better," a third person said of the "Juice" hitmaker.

Neither Lizzo nor her team responded to the situation.

Lizzo Reacts to Liam Payne's Controversial Interview

Liam Payne gave a brutal interview on Logan Paul's podcast a few days ago, saying that he was the inspiration for Simon Cowell's decision to launch One Direction.

However, Lizzo feels that the "Strip That Down" singer was delusional.

"I don't know who lied to that poor child, but he was not the frontman," the "About Damn Time" singer claimed in a TikTok video.

Liam Payne has also come under criticism for comments he made about his former bandmates, including a tale about getting into a physical confrontation with one of them and that he dislikes Zayn Malik.

Payne later responded to his statements, saying he "didn't communicate" himself "as effectively as" he might have.

He then addressed Malik as his brother, promising to "stand with him forever."
