SZA's sophomore project has long been teased and awaited. Initially announced to be released this summer of 2022, the album is still nowhere to be found.

Some fans could not help but wonder where the "promised" album is at now; that's why impatient fans swarm the "Drew Barrymore" hitmaker's Instagram account.

To their surprise, SZA hits back and reveals someone is actually keeping her album from releasing.

SZA New Album Update

After posting her new bob haircut, SZA headed over to the comment section to answer some of her fans' burning questions.

One particular fan caught her attention, though.

"Congrats on the collab but Summer is almost over and there's still no album @sza. Please don't tell me you lied again," the fan said.

Earlier this May 2022, SZA promised in a red carpet interview with Vogue at the 2022 Met Gala that her album is ready to go - noting that it will be a "SZA summer."

However, as July is almost at its end, no new SZA album can be seen at bay.

With the recent fan comment, SZA finally gave the update everyone needed but would not want to hear.

"It's 100% punch and rca on this one. I wanted the summer. They wanted more time. Atp I'm just tryna have a good time stress free lol," the GRAMMY-winning singer said.

SZA is signed under Top Dawg Entertainment and RCA Records.

Punch Responds To SZA's Album Delay Allegations

Shortly after the comment made rounds on social media, Punch, the President of Top Dawg Entertainment, came across SZA's comment, as posted by Pop Base on Twitter.

Twitter Error

Punch's short but poignant was swarmed by SZA fans, asking him directly to be transparent about the album delay.

Some fans even suggested that as soon as SZA finishes her contract, she would be leaving the label as Kendrick Lamar did, who others also claimed left because of the poor management.

Hours after Punch's infamous tweet, SZA echoed his sentiment too.

With the seemingly growing conflict between SZA, Top Dawg, and RCA, SZA's sophomore album might not see the light anytime soon, even before summer officially ends.

But on the lighter side of SZA's discography, fans of the "Kiss Me More" singer are ecstatic with the good news that she and Doja Cat have collaborated on another record on the next album.

Aside from that, SZA's "Ctrl (Deluxe)" was released weeks ago, birthing new songs from her GRAMMY-nominated debut album.
