Kid Cudi started his career with the huge backing of then close friend Kanye West. 16 years later, it would seem like their friendship has reached a point of no return.

The Oho-born rapper has finally confirmed all the emerging rumors about his dwindling relationship with frequent collaborator, mentor, and close friend Kanye West in a recent interview.

Rumors about their spiraling friendship came about during the onslaught of the Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson dating rumors, where Cudi was a close friend of the SNL actor.

Kid Cudi, Kanye West Friendship Explained

Kid Cudi entered the rap scene in 2003, but it was only in 2006 that he met Kanye West, who helped him breakthrough into the mainstream music scene.

Because of his song "Day N' Nite," Kid Cudi found his way to signing a contract on Kanye's GOOD Music label, kickstarting what is expected to be a close friendship between the two.

He goes on to work on Ye's albums including "80s and Heartbreak" where he is promoted as a featured artist in 2008. Since then, Cudi's career finally took off, and was recognized by many publications as one of the rappers to look out for in 2009.

Ye and Kid Cudi have collaborated a lot of times on both albums, which probably gave the latter a more boost in his career, especially with the former's surging career.

Among these tracks are "Welcome to Heartbreak," which was certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America.

However, in 2013, Cudi announced that he would be leaving GOOD Music, and said that he and Kanye were on good terms and the "DONDA" rapper respected his decision.

The two remained good friends and even created a duo called "Kids See Ghosts" where they released an album of the same name that reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 charts.

Cudi was even included on Kanye's "DONDA" album as a featured artist. But things started going sour when Kanye learned that he remained friends with Pete Davidson who is dating his then-wife Kim Kardashian at the time.

The two have exchanged words on social media, even leading Cudi to throw hands at a paparazzi asking about his friendship with Kanye.

The two made it Instagram official when Kanye emerged back from hiatus last month and unfollowed Kid Cudi.

Now, Kid Cudi speaks to Esquire about how the friendship with the rap mogul is finally closing its chapter.

"With all due respect, I'm not Drake, who's about to take a picture with him next week and be friends again, and their beef is squashed. That's not me. What I say, I mean. I will be done with you. It's gonna take a motherfucking miracle for me and that man to be friends again. I don't see it happening. He gon' have to become a monk," Cudi said about Kanye.

Notoriously after Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson's breakup hit the headlines, Kanye posted on Instagram another tirade against "Skete" which also alluded to an incident that Cudi was in at the recent Rolling Loud Miami.

Apparently, that last move by Kanye is what tipped off Kid Cudi to lash out at him in the interview.
