YUNGBLUD is one of the most in-demand musicians of this generation, but it wasn't always like that for him as he recently revealed that he endured the same negativity that other iconic musicians experienced at the beginning of their careers.

In an interview with Distractify, the 25-year-old rocker opened up that negative comments on social media used to bother him as many people question the authenticity of his career.

However, he clarified that he reserves his energy for something more fruitful than focusing on the negative side of life.

He's not alone in the industry as many legendary artists, whom he personally met over the past years, told him they also experienced the same thing.

"When I speak to Ozzy [Osbourne], when I speak to Robert Smith, when I speak to Lenny Kravitz, everyone has," he said.

He added that when people meet an artist who's telling them the truth and showing something "new and different," they don't want to be confronted with the truth because it makes them "have to face their truth."

YUNGBLUD on Meeting Another Music Legend In The Past

YUNGBLUD named a few iconic musicians in his recent interview, but one of his "full circle" moments was when he met The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger for the first time.

Speaking to Bilboard, the "I Think I'm OKAY" singer reveals that the vocalist is one of his biggest inspirations in the industry because of his work as an artist, an activist, a sex icon and a rockstar.

He will never forget his first encounter with the star as he took a shot of whiskey and walked right in, saying, "alright Mick how are you? In my head, I was like 'What the f***?'"

YUNGBLUD on Internet Trolls

In a previous interview with VICE to promote his recent self-titled album, the rocker said he became a target of internet bullies and trolls for the way he presents himself to the public.

Aside from the negative comments he received for his style, he was also accused of being a queerbaiter, an "industry plant," and "appropriating the working class."

Despite reading harsh words from haters, YUNGBLUD, whose real name is Dominic Richard Harrison, remained authentic by being true to himself.

He added that the internet could be so cruel to younger artists like Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish, and many more. The rocker also blamed online trolls' negative remarks for Mac Miller's death because they're "so angry at everything."
