After sexual assault allegations surfaced, The Neighbourhood fired their drummer, Brandon Fried.

Brandon replaced founding member Bryan Sammis in the band in 2014. He quickly established himself as a member of the band, even appearing on the 2015 album "Wiped Out! " and its 2018 sequel, "The Neighbourhood."

However, the "Sweater Weather" hitmakers were plagued by controversy over the weekend after Maria Zardoya, the lead singer of Los Angeles-based indie-psych group The Marias, accused Brandon Fried of sexual assault.

Brandon groped her under the table at a Los Angeles bar, according to a statement she posted on her Instagram Stories.

She went on to claim that what she experienced was one of the "most uncomfortable things" ever, adding, it was "an invasion of my space, my privacy, and body."

Maria then pushed The Neighbourhood to fire Brandon and referred to him as a "total creep."

But it wasn't only Maria who alleged the drummer sexually attacked her. Another woman shared her negative experiences with the drummer.

Shortly after Maria's Instagram post went viral, the band announced through Instagram Story that Brandon Fried would no longer be a member of the band.

They praised Maria for speaking out and stated that they will not tolerate any inappropriate behavior toward women.

But Brandon later responded on his own Instagram page, apologizing for his actions that were "inexcusable and intolerable."

He went on to say, "They are not reflective of who I am as a person, but a reflection of who I become while under the influence."

Brandon also admitted that he suffers with alcohol and drug addiction, for which he intends to seek treatment.

The Neighbourhood has lately received more media attention since its main singer, Jesse Rutherford, is dating Billie Eilish.

Because of their huge age gap, their relationship drew a lot of flak, with the 31-year-old singer getting chastised for dating the 20-year-old "Bad Guy" hitmaker.

While fans are concerned about the couple's relationship, Billie's older brother Finneas is reportedly unconcerned.

According to a source who spoke to Hollywood Life, Jesse and Finneas get along well, and the latter enjoys seeing his younger sister "so joyful and enthusiastic."

Despite their age gap, Billie and Jesse are allegedly on the same level, and the Grammy-winning singer believes Jesse is "the right person" for her.
