Kanye has actually been on the lookout if his Twitter account can be restored. Back in October, the rapper's Twitter and Instagram accounts were banned following a spate of antisemitic social media posts and interviews.

Now, his pages were returned, and new Twitter CEO Elon Musk confirmed that Kanye's account had been restored before he took over that month.

On Sunday, Kanye returned to the network and tweeted, "Testing Testing Seeing if my Twitter is unblocked," to which Musk replied, "Don't kill what ye hate, Save what ye love."

Several hours later, the "Stronger" hitmaker returned and simply tweeted "shalom," the Hebrew word for peace which is also used as a Jewish greeting.

The 45-year-old, took to Twitter in early November to defend basketball player Kyrie Irving during the antisemitism scandal surrounding the sports star.

Kanye also notified his followers that he would be observing a 30-day "verbal fast" and abstaining from alcohol, pornography, and sexual activity.

As a result of his antisemitic remarks, the rapper lost a number of important business partnerships, including his lucrative Yeezy partnership with Adidas.

Apart from Kanye's controversial account, Musk revived former U.S. President Donald Trump's Twitter account over the weekend, nearly two years after it had been deactivated.

Musk conducted a survey asking whether the prohibition should be lifted, and 51.8% of respondents agreed.

Trump, who last week declared his candidacy for the White House in 2024, has yet to post on his account but has indicated he will continue to use his own social network, Truth Social.

There is a high possibility that the former U.S. president may not return to the podium, having previously stated, "I see no need for it."

In 2021, his account was suspended due to the potential of inciting violence. The former administration of Twitter took action just days after Donald Trump's supporters stormed the US Capitol on 6 January.

Hundreds of rioters entered the complex as the US Congress attempted to confirm Joe Biden's victory in the presidential election.

The violence that ensued resulted in the deaths of four civilians and one police officer. Soon after the riots, Donald Trump's Facebook, Instagram and YouTube accounts, which all had tens of millions of followers - were also suspended. Several months later, he founded Truth Social, his own social media network.

Earlier this week, the Republican revealed that he would once again compete for the US presidency in 2024. In October, the world's richest man, Mr. Musk, purchased Twitter for $44 billion.

Amid concerns that he may relax Twitter's restrictions on hate speech and disinformation, he promptly initiated a series of drastic adjustments within the social media behemoth. He informed employees earlier this week that the company's office buildings would be closed temporarily, effective immediately.

The revelation comes amid allegations that a significant number of employees have resigned in response to Mr. Musk's demand that they sign up for "long hours at high intensity" or leave.
