Cher's family is still mourning the death of their matriarch, Georgia Holt, who died at age 96 on December 10 and the pop star took to social media to give the public more information about her mother's passing.

Taking to her official Twitter account, the "Turn Back Time" songstress told her followers that she couldn't sleep. She later revealed her mother's heartbreaking final moments.

"The truth.... She's been sick & rallying. She then got bad, she was in so much pain," she wrote.

The pop star then noted that Holt "coded" on the way to the hospital, then by the time they get there, the actress, who she described as her "kick-ass mom," passed away.

Earlier that evening, she encouraged her fans to look up her and Holt's song of "I'm Just Your Yesterday," noting that she got her voice from her mom.

Georgia Holt's Death

Last week, the "Believe" hitmaker shared shocking news to the world confirming her mom's death. Georgia Holt reportedly suffered from a pneumonia attack a few months ago.

In early reports, it was revealed that Cher had a special request to the actress a few years ago. Radar Online reported that the 76-year-old singer had been pleading with her mom to move in with her.

In order to convince her, she has been visiting and calling the star who happens to live close to her residence.

Georgia Holt's Career

Over the past few decades, Georgia Holt had an amazing run in show business as she appeared in several movies like "A Life of Her Own" in 1950," "Grounds for Marriage" in 1951, "Father's Little Dividend," and more.

She also had TV show credits under her belt, appearing in "The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet" and many more.

Aside from being a successful actress, Holt was also a musician under Columbia Records. She recorded the album "Honky Tonky Woman" in 1980, but it remained shelved until its release in 2013 after it was rediscovered in her garage that year.

"I know that a record company might want to sign me just because I'm Cher's mother," she said in an interview in 1978. (via Billboard)

The actress added that she wanted to have a career, but she won't be a novelty or a "flash in the pan" because many people told her she could do it.
