After months of heartbreak on knowing if the Spice Girls will finally be reuniting again, it seemed like we were finally getting the biggest one after all!

According to Express UK, the iconic girl group is set to reunite again on Britain's momentous occasion of the newly acceded King Charles III, the coronation on May 2023.

"Royal organisers are super keen to secure Britain's biggest girl band and the Spice Girls are seriously pondering a return to the stage as a five piece for such a historical event," a The Sun insider revealed.

The girl band holds a rather significant meaning to King Charles who was back then, when he was still a Prince, made headlines when she met the group back in 1997.

Spice Girls, composed of Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown, Victoria Adams, and Melanie Chisholm, performed on the 21st anniversary of Charles' Trust Charity at the Manchester Opera House back then.

After their performance, the group met the then-Prince Charles after the performance. During the meet-and-greet Brown, also known as Scary Spice, infamously gave the Prince a smooch on the cheek after asking him out to dinner, which many said to have been a breach of protocol. Halliwell, Ginger Spice, also planted a much more evident kiss mark on the Prince's cheek, and a pat on the Royal's butt.

The Spice Girls eventually took a now-iconic photo with the Prince, who they squeezed in between while doing their iconic peace pose with him.

After the encounter, the Spice Girls have separately attended the Prince's gatherings and other events in the UK.

According to Mel C, Sporty Spice, she was shocked at the time after the encounter, but looking back, she told People Magazine that she has no regrets.

"I was like, 'Oh my gosh, I can't believe they're doing it.' But now I'm really proud that the girls did that because I think that's part of the reason the world fell in love with the Spice Girls," she recalled. "Now that Charles is our King, it kind of makes it even more naughty."

Mel B has been teasing a return of the iconic girl group, saying that "something would happen" soon. With the apparent source revealing that they are set to reunite on the historic event is going to be a full circle moment for one of the biggest girl groups in the world.
